Beacon Hill is a working farm which follows a long tradition of breeding a variety of farm animals. Today it is a mixed farm that breeds deer & cattle, as well as being home to the largest (and only) Yak breeding herd in New Zealand.

Around our barnyard you may find a number of tame deer and a huge black pig called Piggles. As well as a farm dog or two who always enjoy a good scratch.Beacon Hill is unique in that it has an equine veterinary clinic operating on site.

This is associated with Town & Country Vets who may have a variety of patients staying or visiting for treatment or care including sheep, goats, alpaca as well as horses of course.
